The Department of Education and Training invited Avis and Ruth to work with principals, district and department leaders in
South Australia to share the Ontario experience in improving student achievement, with a focus on how to achieve excellence
and equity.
They led discussions in the areas of:
- Leadership for Equity
- Character Development
- Instructional Leadership
- District and School Improvement Planning
- Improving Student Achievement in Schools in Challenging Circumstances
- High Yield Instructional Strategies
- The Ontario Strategy for Improving Literacy and Numeracy
This was also an opportunity for them to learn about many of the successes of the Australian educational system.
